The debut full-length from Brooklyn’s own the Gang is a noisy, overloaded and joyful mess of an album, with stacks of guitar toppling over under their own weight and distorted yet melodic vocals bubbling to the surface. The reference points are mostly ’90s indie rock, from noisy pop to garage rock abandon to lo-fi freak-outs, and the Gang manage to digest it all while spitting out their own, original sound.
